As a Sr. Accountant at Opal you will play a critical role in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, international consolidations, and accounting processes/controls. S(he) should be a self-motivated individual who has a thirst to develop new processes while improving existing ones.

Responsibilities:

  • Play an active role in the financial close process and preparation of month-end journal entries
  • Review foreign subsidiary financial statements and consolidation process
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, fluctuation analysis and management reporting
  • Review department and account coding for appropriate accounting treatment
  • Assist in preparation of schedule for our external auditors during annual audits
  • Work collaboratively and communicate often with several internal departments as well as external vendor and customer contacts
  • Exercise independent judgement and autonomy when executing on individual projects or initiatives
  • Maintain and improve accounting process with a high attention to detail
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes

Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Big 4 public accounting experience and CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance, SaaS experience preferred
  • Advance knowledge of US GAAP
  • Netsuite experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm
  • Strong multitasking skills and the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
